With 2,137 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 714,877

Nepal on Sunday reported 2,137 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 714,877.
Similarly, 411 people tested positive in a total of 3,345 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Sunday, 3,683,734 PCR and 357,595 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,033 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 55 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,093. The number of active cases stands at 35,485.
According to the ministry, 669,299 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 2,029 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 951 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 740 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 155 in Lalitpur and 56 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 413 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 11 in Province 2, 1,231 in Bagmati, 278 in Gandaki, 146 in Lumbini, 50 in Karnali and eight Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 16 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Sunday, 802 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 181—52 in Province 1, 104 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, 17 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and five in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 2,231 new coronavirus cases and 19 new deaths. Similarly, 2,430 new coronavirus cases and 25 new deaths were recorded on Friday and 3,007 new coronavirus cases and 37 new deaths were reported on Thursday.
