With 3,007 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 708,079

Nepal on Thursday reported 3,007 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 708,079.
Similarly, 931 people tested positive in a total of 6,538 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 3,656,342 PCR and 343,361 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 11,870 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 37 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 9,994. The number of active cases stands at 34,422.
According to the ministry, 663,663 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 2,012 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,075 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 766 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 163 in Lalitpur and 146 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 690 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 45 in Province 2, 1,667 in Bagmati, 362 in Gandaki, 149 in Lumbini, 51 in Karnali and 43 Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 16 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Thursday, 713 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 158—46 in Province 1, 90 in Bagmati, 14 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and six in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 2,975 new coronavirus cases and 35 new deaths. Similarly, 2,448 new coronavirus cases and 24 new deaths were recorded on Tuesday and 2,279 new coronavirus cases and 23 deaths were reported on Monday.
