CIAA files graft case against 11 persons
The constitutional anti-graft body accuses them of financial irregularities in canal construction in Sarlahi.Post Report
The Commission for the Investigation of Authority (CIAA) on Friday filed a graft case against 11 persons on the charge of financial irregularities.
The constitutional anti-graft body filed the case at the Special Court in Kathmandu accusing 11 persons including the then Chair of Chakraghatta Rural Municipality in Sarlahi of misappropriating Rs 341,544 in constructing a canal.
CIAA in a statement on Friday said it filed the case against rural municipality Chair Bikram Yadav, acting administrative officer Mukesh Kumar Pathak, engineer Ajay Yadav and accountant Shiva Shankar Prasad Kusahawa.
Shyam Prasad Bhandari, CIAA spokesperson, said the commission also charge sheeted ward chairman Abdul Ahad Kawari, rural municipality executive committee members Bijay Kumar Chaudhary and Binod Sah, engineer Ajay Yadav and sub-engineer Jitendra Yadav demanding action as per the Prevention of Corruption Act 2002.
The commission also filed the case against the chairman of the consumer committee Sheikh Mohammad Irfan Ali, Treasurer Hazra Khatun and Secretary Mohammad Irfan.
