Visa, the global leader in digital payments, has formally opened its dedicated Nepal office in Kathmandu.
According to the company's statement, the inauguration of Visa’s Nepal office underscores the company’s long-term commitment to supporting the country’s journey toward a cashless economy.
This strategic move aims to broaden access to digital payments and deliver seamless, secure financial solutions for consumers and merchants.
Additionally, Visa has announced the appointment of Manoj Thapa as Head of Nepal.
In his new role, Manoj will focus on strengthening local partnerships and accelerating the adoption of secure, innovative digital payments solutions to meet the country’s evolving needs.
Using Visa, the company said Manoj would report to Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager for Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. Commenting on this announcement, Ahmed said, “We are excited to announce Visa’s presence in Nepal with an office in Kathmandu. I am also delighted to welcome Manoj to Visa’s leadership team. His appointment reflects Visa’s ongoing commitment to Nepal as a trusted partner to support the country’s digital transformation.”
