Matrika Eye Centre in Maitidevi, which has been providing the SmartSurface laser eye surgery service since 2019, said it has been receiving a good response from clients.

SmartSurface, the touch-free procedure to permanently remove the use of glasses and contact lenses, can be performed within 20 seconds, according to Sona Pradhan, founder and managing director at the centre.

Including SmartSurface, the centre also provides other procedures such as SmartSight, SMILE, Femto Topography-guided LASIK, Wavefront-guided LASIK, Femtosecond LASIK, Collagen Crosslinking (C3R), Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK), Photo Therapeutic Keratectomy (PTK) and for corneal scars - Corneal Tissue Addition by Excimers and Femtosecond Lasers.

“Individuals above 18 years old and with eyesight ranging from -0.25 to -13 and +0.25 to +6.5 are eligible for the procedure,” said Pradhan. “Astigmatism patients up to 6 dioptres are also eligible.”

The SmartSurface procedure at the centre costs Rs95,000, Pradhan added.
