With 1,793 new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 732,272
The Health Ministry reports 33 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 1,793 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 732,272.
Similarly, 419 people tested positive in a total of 4,018 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 3,757,572 PCR and 395,853 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,088 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 33 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,292. The number of active cases stands at 39,298.
According to the ministry, 682,682 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,867 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 739 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 522 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 154 in Lalitpur and 63 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 302 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 19 in Province 2, 824 in Bagmati, 437 in Gandaki, 117 in Lumbini, 77 in Karnali and 17 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 21 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 16 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Sunday, 758 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 193—56 in Province 1, 115 in Bagmati, six in Gandaki, 10 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 1,947 new coronavirus cases and 20 deaths. Similarly, 3,194 new coronavirus cases and 35 new deaths were recorded on Friday and 2,473 new coronavirus cases and 32 new deaths were reported on Thursday.
