With 3,194 new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 720,680
The Health Ministry reports 35 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 3,194 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 720,680.
Similarly, 1,710 people tested positive in a total of 5,906 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 3,707,396 PCR and 369,650 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 13,217 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 35 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,150. The number of active cases stands at 37,332.
According to the ministry, 673,198 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 2,115 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,015 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 624 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 152 in Lalitpur and 239 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 413 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 11 in Province 2, 1,231 in Bagmati, 278 in Gandaki, 146 in Lumbini, 50 in Karnali and eight Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 16 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 21 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 761 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 176—45 in Province 1, 109 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, 12 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and seven in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 2,609 new coronavirus cases and 22 deaths. Similarly, 2,137 new coronavirus cases and 55 new deaths were recorded on Monday and 2,231 new coronavirus cases and 19 new deaths were reported on Saturday.
