Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said Wednesday.

The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,030.

In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 162 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 277,309.

According to the ministry, 272,786 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 59 of them in the past 24 hours.

The active case count stands at 1,493.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 67 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 50 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 13 in Lalitpur and four in Bhaktapur.

In the past 24 hours, 74 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 43 in Gandaki, 10 in Sudurpaschim, 24 in Lumbini, one in Province 2, seven in Province 1 and three in Karnali.

As of Wednesday, 2,271,327 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 3,919 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.

Nepal had reported three Covid-19 related fatalities and 167 new infections on Tuesday. Similarly, 141 new infections were recorded on Monday and 89 new infections were recorded in the country on Saturday.
