National Covid-19 tally reaches 276,839 with 89 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said Sunday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,027.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 89 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 276,839.
According to the ministry, 272,530 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 95 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 1,282.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 65 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 52 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, seven in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 71 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 10 in Lumbini, four in Gandaki, three in Province 1 and one in Province 2.
As of Sunday, 2,261,146 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 2,101 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had reported 85 new infections on Saturday. Similarly, 156 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Friday and 120 covid-19 infections were reported across the country on Thursday.
