National Covid-19 tally reaches 276,665 with 156 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said Friday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,024.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 156 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 276,509.
According to the ministry, 272,342 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 70 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 1,299.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 66 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 55 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, nine in Lalitpur and two in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 91 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 39 in Gandaki, 13 in Lumbini, six in Province 1, one in Province 2, two in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim.
As of Friday, 2,251,884 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 4,416 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had reported 120 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday. Similarly, one Covid-19 death and 145 new infections on Wednesday and 188 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Tuesday.
