Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,020 with one more death

Nepal on Wednesday reported one more Covid-19 related fatality, pushing the death toll to 3,020. The country also recorded 145 new cases.

The overall infection tally has reached 276,389 with 1,182 active cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 272,187 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 90 of them in the past 24 hours.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 63 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 53 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, eight in Lalitpur and two in Bhaktapur.

In the past 24 hours, 74 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 33 in Gandaki, 13 in Province 1, seven in Province 2, 12 in Lumbini, four in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim.

As of Wednesday, 2,248,993 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 3,963 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.

Nepal had reported 188 Covid-19 infections on Tuesday. Similarly, 150 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Monday and 77 new cases were reported on Sunday.
