National Covid-19 tally reaches 275,906 with 77 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said Sunday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,016.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 77 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 275,906.
According to the ministry, 271,921 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 106 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 969.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 41 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 34 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, five in Lalitpur and two in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 44 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 21 in Gandaki, six in Lumbini, four in Province 2 and two in Province 1.
As of Sunday, 2,236,526 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 3,181 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal on Saturday had recorded 79 new infections. Similarly, one Covid-19 related fatality and 125 new cases were reported on Friday and 107 Covid-19 infections were recorded on Thursday.
