National Covid-19 tally reaches 275,829 with 79 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said Saturday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,016.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 79 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 275,829.
According to the ministry, 271,815 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 82 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 998.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 58 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 42 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 15 in Lalitpur and one in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 62 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, nine in Lumbini, six in Gandaki and one each in Province 1 and Sudurpaschim.
As of Saturday, 2,233,345 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 2,637 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal on Friday had reported one more Covid-19 related fatality and 125 new cases. Similarly, 107 Covid-19 infections were recorded on Thursday and 94 on Wednesday.
