National Covid-19 tally reaches 272,349 with 134 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Thursday.
The country has recorded 2,047 deaths due to Covid-19 so far. The ministry had reported two deaths due to complications caused by the coronavirus disease on Tuesday, seven on Monday and three on Sunday.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country reported 134 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 272,349.
As of Wednesday, the active case count stands at 1,753 with Kathmandu leading the number of active infected cases at more than 500.
Kalikot, Rukum (West) and Mugu districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, one new infection was reported in Province 1, three each in Province 2 and Sudurpaschim Province.
Similarly, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Lumbini provinces reported 90, 32, one and four cases respectively.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 65 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 44 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, four in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur.
Kathmandu Valley has registered 127,348 Covid-19 cases so far. While Kathmandu has reported 500 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 163 and 115 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 1,003 individuals from Bagmati Province, 290 from Lumbini Province, 229 from Province 1, 220 from Province 2, 212 from Gandaki Province, 66 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Wednesday , 2,104,626 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 3,537 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Wednesday, 72 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country, 16 others—14 in Bagmati Province and two in Lumbini Province —were on ventilator support.
