Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 2,045 with seven more deaths; national tally reaches 272,055 with 130 new infections

Nepal on Monday reported seven more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 2,045. The country also recorded 130 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 272,055 with 1,744 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 268,266 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 194 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 58 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 45 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 11 in Lalitpur and two in Bhaktapur.
As of Monday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 127,204. While Kathmandu has reported 500 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 161 and 115 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 1,002 individuals from Bagmati Province, 289 from Lumbini Province, 229 from Province 1, 220 from Province 2, 212 from Gandaki Province, 66 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Monday, 2,096,750 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 3,333 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, three cases were recorded in Province 1, two in Province 2 and 71 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim reported 24, 23, one and six cases respectively.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Kalikot, Rukum (West) and Mugu districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
Until Monday, 63 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country, 17 others—14 in Bagmati Province, two in Lumbini and one in Karnali—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported three Covid-19-related fatalities and 119 new cases. Similarly, 99 new infections were recorded on Saturday and two Covid-19-related fatalities and 105 new cases were recorded in the country on Friday.
