Newly appointed Attorney General Ramesh Badal took an oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.
Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha administered the oath of office and secrecy to Badal amid a ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas, the office of the President, in the presence of President Ramchandra Paudel.
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal and other top officials were present at the ceremony.
President Paudel on Wednesday appointed senior advocate Badal as the attorney general after Dinamani Pokharel, who was appointed to the post by the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government in December 2022, resigned after formation of the new government.
