Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has been elected unopposed for a second term on Saturday as he was the only candidate to file nomination for the post.
The official announcement, however, will be made only on Sunday.
The main opposition Nepali Congress, who had fielded Kumari Laxmi Rai against Bidya Devi Bhandari during the presidential election, did not pitch any candidate for the election to the post of Vice-President.
Earlier, incumbent President Bidya Devi Bhandari was elected for a second term on Tuesday.
She defeated NC’s Kumari Laxmi Rai to become the President.
Out of 52,501 votes by weightage President Bhandari secured 39,275 votes while Rai got 11,730 votes.
