Expressing dissatisfaction over the party policy, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Democratic) candidate for the provincial election from Rolpa ‘B’ Bir Singh Thakuri joined the CPN (Maoist Centre) on Friday.
In an election assembly jointly organised by left alliance parties—CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) in Libang, Thakuri withdrew his candidacy and quit the party.
“I withdrew my nomination to fulfill my strategic objective after the political polarisation,” he said in the programme. He was also the central member of RPP (Democratic).
“I choose the left alliance thinking that it will take the responsibility to develop the nation,” he said.
Appealing everyone to support the candidate of left alliance in the elections, he said, “Now, I will continue my political career from Maoist Centre.” He was also the chief of Rapti Zone.
Thakuri, who has long been doing politics from the Capital, is the resident of Khungri, Subarnwati-2.
Maoist Centre leader and Minister without portfolio Krishna Bahadur Mahara welcomed him in the party by offering Tika and garland.
After Thakuri quit the party, Til Bahadur Oli will contest the parliamentary election and Hari Kala Budhathoki will contest the provincial election from Rolpa ‘B’.
