UML has bagged the post of chairperson in Menchayayem Rural Municipality of Tehrathum district on Saturday.
Yadav Bahadur Khapung defeated Nepali Congress (NC)'s Rajendra Bahadur Singh to become chairperson of Menchayayem.
Khapung mustered 1, 683 votes while Limbu garnered 1,496 votes.
Similarly, NC's Gita Devi Gautam has been elected Vice-Chair of Menchayayem Rural Municipality.
Gautam defeated UML’s Dil Kumari Shankar to become Vice-Chair of the Rural Municipality.
She obtained 1, 486 votes while Shankar received 1,420 votes.
