Minister is miffed with the election body after questions were raised over his position in the government. “Article 270 of the constitution states that any political parties won’t be banned. I will file a case against the EC at the Supreme Court soon,” said Minister Singh.
On Sunday, the EC had scrapped registration of 15 political parties for not furnishing income and expenditure details for three consecutive years. Along with Singh’s party, the commission had scrapped Janata Dal United, Janata Party Nepal, Nepali Janata Party, Nepal Janabhawana Party, Sa-shati Nepal, Nepal Rastriya Loktantrik Dal, Nepal Rastriya Janakalyan Party, Janamukti Party Nepal, Shiva Sena, Liberal Samajbadi Party, Nawa Nepal Prajatantrik Dal, Sanghiya Loktantrik Party and Samajbadi Party for violating the laws.
