Nepal reports 898 new Covid-19 cases, 13 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,148 and the number of active cases stands at 18,115.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 898 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 795,959.
Similarly, 168 people tested positive in a total of 3,255 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,215,495 PCR and 581,090 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 10,113 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 13 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,148. The number of active cases stands at 18,115.
According to the ministry, 766,696 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 938 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 359 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 266 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 62 in Lalitpur and 31 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 225 new infections were recorded in Province 1, seven in Province 2, 428 in Bagmati, 119 in Gandaki, 87 in Lumbini, 13 in Karnali and 19 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Friday, 354 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 116-35 in Province 1, 66 in Bagmati, five in Gandaki, six in Lumbini, and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 898 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths. Similarly, 892 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths were recorded on Wednesday and 904 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths were reported on Tuesday.
