Nepal reports 892 new Covid-19 cases, eight deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,123 and the number of active cases stands at 18,193.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 892 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 794,163.
Similarly, 265 people tested positive in a total of 3,889 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,196,827 PCR and 574,625 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 10,652 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported eight Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,123. The number of active cases stands at 18,193.
According to the ministry, 764,847 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,113 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 335 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 265 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 42 in Lalitpur and 28 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 225 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 24 in Province 2, 431 in Bagmati, 79 in Gandaki, 94 in Lumbini, 10 in Karnali and 29 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Wednesday, 354 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 99-21 in Province 1, 61 in Bagmati, five in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, and five in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 904 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths. Similarly, 975 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths were reported on Monday and 730 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths were reported on Sunday.
