Nepal reports 904 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,115 and the number of active cases stands at 18,422.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 904 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 793,271.
Similarly, 254 people tested positive in a total of 2,331 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,186,175 PCR and 570,736 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 11,672 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 12 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,115. The number of active cases stands at 18,422.
According to the ministry, 763,735 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,318 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 383 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 270 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 69 in Lalitpur and 44 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 184 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 32 in Province 2, 456 in Bagmati, 90 in Gandaki, 94 in Lumbini, 34 in Karnali and 14 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 364 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 120-37 in Province 1, 65 in Bagmati, six in Gandaki, eight in Lumbini, and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 975 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths. Similarly, 730 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths were reported on Sunday and 790 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were reported on Saturday.
