Nepal reports 790 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,087 and the number of active cases stands at 19,700.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 790 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 790,662.
Similarly, 163 people tested positive in a total of 3,529 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 4,146,783PCR and 559,851 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,050 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,087. The number of active cases stands at 19,700.
According to the ministry, 759,875 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,371 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 311 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 198 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 73 in Lalitpur and 40 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 159 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 15 in Province 2, 370 in Bagmati, 115 in Gandaki, 81 in Lumbini, 41 in Karnali and nine in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Saturday, 363 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 109-32 in Province 1, 60 in Bagmati, five in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, one in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 1,103 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths. Similarly, 941 new coronavirus cases and 13 deaths were reported on Thursday and 1,251 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were reported on Wednesday.
