Nepal reports 1,251 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,059 and the number of active cases stands at 21,139.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 1,251new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 787,828.
Similarly, 227 people tested positive in a total of 2,863 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 412,4579 PCR and 547,593 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 11,067 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,059. The number of active cases stands at 21,139.
According to the ministry, 755,630 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,630 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 564 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 355 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 151 in Lalitpur and 58 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 249 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 18 in Province 2, 672 in Bagmati, 165 in Gandaki, 99 in Lumbini, 14 in Karnali and 34 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 21 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Wednesday, 334 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 119-38 in Province 1, 65 in Bagmati, six in Gandaki, three in Lumbini, two in Karnali and five in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 1,063 new coronavirus cases and five deaths. Similarly, 975 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths were reported on Monday and 656 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths were reported on Sunday.
