Nepal reports 975 new Covid-19 cases, eight deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,048 and the number of active cases stands at 22,323.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 975 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 785,541.
Similarly, 120 people tested positive in a total of 3,031 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 4,103,886 PCR and 540,734 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 10,786 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported eight Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,048. The number of active cases stands at 22,323.
According to the ministry, 752,170 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 2,957 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 396 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 298 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 35 in Lalitpur and 63 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 271 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 22 in Province 2, 491 in Bagmati, 70 in Gandaki, 74 in Lumbini, five in Karnali and 42 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 10 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 371 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 108-30 in Province 1, 64 in Bagmati, six in Gandaki, two each in Lumbini and Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 656 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths. Similarly, 835 new coronavirus cases and 16 deaths were reported onSaturday and 1,086 new coronavirus cases and 10 deaths were reported on Friday.
