Nepal reports 835 new Covid-19 cases, 16 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,028 and the number of active cases stands at 25,082.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 835 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 783,910.
Similarly, 231 people tested positive in a total of 2,818 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 4,085,796 PCR and 534,994 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,540 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 16 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,028. The number of active cases stands at 25,082.
According to the ministry, 747,800 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,234 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 256 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 243 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, and 13 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 143 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 28 in Province 2, 420 in Bagmati, 89 in Gandaki, 79 in Lumbini, 26 in Karnali and 40 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 11 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Saturday, 389 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 121-33 in Province 1, 72 in Bagmati, six in Gandaki, one in Lumbini, three in Karnali and six in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday recorded 1,086 new coronavirus cases and 10 deaths. Similarly, 1,165 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths were reported on Thursday and 1,332 new coronavirus cases and 7 deaths were recorded on Wednesday.
