Nepal reports 1,036 new Covid-19 cases, five deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,053 and the number of active cases stands at 21,524.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 1,036 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 786,577.
Similarly, 294 people tested positive in a total of 3,996 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 411,3512 PCR and 544,730 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,626 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported five Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,053. The number of active cases stands at 21,524.
According to the ministry, 754,000 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,830 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 402 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 261 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 98 in Lalitpur and 43 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 241 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 17 in Province 2, 525 in Bagmati, 145 in Gandaki, 80 in Lumbini, six in Karnali and 22 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 335 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 107-29 in Province 1, 62 in Bagmati, seven in Gandaki, two in Lumbini, three in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday 975 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths. Similarly, 656 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths were reported on Sunday and 835 new coronavirus cases and 16 deaths were reported on Saturday.
