Nepal reports 1,103 new Covid-19 cases, nine deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,081 and the number of active cases stands at 20,287.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 1,103 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 789,872.
Similarly, 373 people tested positive in a total of 5,115 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,146,783PCR and 556,322 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 10,575 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported nine Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,081. The number of active cases stands at 20,287.
According to the ministry, 758,504 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,550 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 364 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 256 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 73 in Lalitpur and 35 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 276 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 25 in Province 2, 474 in Bagmati, 169 in Gandaki, 110 in Lumbini, 26 in Karnali and 23 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 22 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Friday, 347 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 105-35 in Province 1, 52 in Bagmati, five in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, two in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 941 new coronavirus cases and 13 deaths. Similarly, 1,251 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were reported on Wednesday and 1,063 new coronavirus cases and five deaths were reported on Tuesday.
