Nepal reports 898 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,135 and the number of active cases stands at 18,168.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 898 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 795,061.
Similarly, 180 people tested positive in a total of 3,210 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,205,382 PCR and 577,835 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,555 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 12 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,135. The number of active cases stands at 18,168.
According to the ministry, 765,758 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 911 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 369 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 267 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 65 in Lalitpur and 37 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 174 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 16 in Province 2, 455 in Bagmati, 103 in Gandaki, 86 in Lumbini, 36 in Karnali and 28 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Thursday, 353 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 117-34 in Province 1, 66 in Bagmati, five in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, and five in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 892 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths. Similarly, 904 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths were recorded on Tuesday and 975 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths were reported on Monday.
