Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in several parts of the country today, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The division said the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as those of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, will remain generally cloudy. The remaining areas are expected to see partly cloudy skies.

Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, as well as in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is also possible at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, and at a few places in Madhesh Province. One or two places in the Tarai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces may also receive light rain.

Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions across the country, including Koshi Province, are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy conditions.
