The country is expected to witness generally cloudy conditions in the hilly and mountainous regions on Sunday, with partial cloud cover elsewhere.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, some places in the hills and mountains may receive moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, hail and strong winds.

Light rain with thunder and lightning is also likely at a few places in the Tarai, particularly in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at isolated locations elsewhere.

Windstorms are also possible in parts of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Tarai.

Meteorologists have advised caution, as such weather systems—often driven by westerly disturbances—can trigger thunderstorms, hail and gusty winds across several provinces.
