Nuwakot
Devotees and pilgrims on their way to Gosainkunda this year have an alternate route to the pilgrimage site.
A foot trail from Tokha that passes through ward 1 of Dupcheshwar Rural Municipality in Nuwakot to Gosaikunda has reduced the travel time for pilgrims.
While it takes two or more days to reach Gosainkunda via other trails, the journey to Gosainkunda from Kathmandu can be covered in one day via the Tokha-Gosainkunda foot trail.
According to Shankar Bahadur Thapa, chairman of Dupcheshwar Rural Municipality, the foot trail (Tokha-Gosaikunda) came into operation five months ago. More than 500 people use this trail daily, said Thapa.
