Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane has taken a commanding lead in Chitwan-2, staying far ahead of his nearest rival as vote counting continues.
Lamichhane has secured 37,812 votes, leading Nepali Congress candidate Mina Kumari Kharel by 27,100 votes. Kharel has received 10,712 votes so far.
A total of 62,310 votes have been counted in the constituency, while 24,911 votes remain to be counted.
In Thursday’s election, 87,221 votes were cast in Chitwan-2.
