Mugling-Narayanghat highway to be closed for four hours a day from December 20
The construction of four bridges will be underway on the highway section for a month, according to the Department of Roads. The Mugling-Narayanghat highway will be closed for one month from December 20 for four hours daily between 11 am to 3 pm.
Issuing a notice on Tuesday, the Department of Roads said the highway would be closed for the construction of bridges over Simaltal, Kalikhola, Tuinkhola and Chisenjikhola.
Due to the difficult topography and for road safety during the construction of the approach roads and the bridges, vehicular movement will not be allowed, according to the project.
Arjun Jung Thapa, director general of the Department of Roads, said that vehicular movement will be stopped in the given time as four bridges are to be constructed on the Mugling-Narayanghat highway by cutting through difficult hills.
“We have to cut the hills and build bridges,” said Thapa. “So we have to halt traffic flow for certain hours in the day.”
