The Janamat Party on Saturday conducted votes at the local levels to check whether the performances of the party’s local representatives were satisfactory.
According to party secretary BP Sah, the votes, being held at various local levels, aim to ascertain the approval rating of the party’s locally elected representatives.
Only those party members who joined the organisation before the May local elections last year are eligible to vote.
As per the party schedule, the voters’ list was published on Tuesday.
The Janamat Party on Saturday held the maiden poll to determine the approval rating of its locally elected leaders in accordance with its election manifesto that included a provision of ‘right to recall’ the representatives who fail to perform satisfactorily.
Voting to determine the performance of the local representatives, such as municipality chairs, vice chairs, and ward chairs, commenced in 22 different polling stations at 9am, Sah added.
