Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane has extended his lead in Chitwan-2 as vote counting continues following Thursday’s parliamentary elections.
Lamichhane has secured 17,414 votes, leading Nepali Congress candidate Mina Kumari Kharel by 12,220 votes, who has received 5,194 votes. CPN-UML candidate Asmin Ghimire trails with 4,738 votes.
The RSP has been in the lead in all constituencies of Chitwan.
Vote counting is ongoing. The party has so far claimed one confirmed victory and is leading in 102 constituencies nationwide.
