Artist Sagar Lamsal, known as ‘Bale’, has been arrested after a young woman accused him of rape.
According to Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Ramesh Thapa, Lamsal was arrested from Budhanilkantha in Kathmandu.
A woman residing in the United States had levelled the accusations against Lamsal through a Facebook post, stating that he raped her during a meeting when she was in the US.
Police said Lamsal was called in for questioning after the allegation was made public. Authorities added that they are in coordination with the alleged victim.
However, a formal complaint has yet to be filed.
