Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah, has commended Prime Minister Sushila Karki for successfully conducting the election on schedule.
Shah, who has positioned himself as the potential prime minister if RSP wins, described the smooth conduct of the election as a triumph for democracy.
After polling concluded, he shared a picture of Prime Minister Karki on social media, writing: “Under your leadership, democracy has triumphed today.”
The former mayor of Kathmandu is contesting the election from Jhapa-5, where former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is also a candidate.
