Two men were arrested in Nepalgunj-3, Ekalaini, on Saturday night after locals caught them allegedly attempting theft.
During the search, residents discovered 97 bullet casings and other weapons in a sack the suspects were carrying. They were then handed over to the Ward Police Office.
Ward chair Ayub Siddiqui said one of the men is from Bardiya while the other is from Babaganj, India.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Patali, district police office spokesperson, confirmed the arrest, stating that an investigation has been launched to determine how the suspects obtained such a large number of bullet casings.
