The Election Commission has instructed political parties to publicise their audit report for the fiscal year 2021-22.
The commission instructed 82 political parties that have submitted their reports to make the document public within a week and inform the commission about it.
Parties have been instructed to publish the report through the office or website, mass media and social media of the relevant party and inform the commission of the publication, the election body said in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to sub-section (1) of Section 41 of the Political Parties Act, 2017, political parties registered with the commission must undergo an audit by a licensed auditor within six months of the end of the fiscal year and submit the audit report to the commission within one month.
A total of 82 parties have updated such details in the commission.
The commission has sought clarifications from parties that have not submitted reports for two consecutive years.
According to the commission, Muskan Sena Nepal Party, Shiv Sena Nepal, Aam Aadmi Party Nepal, Rastriya Janmukhi Party (Loktantrik) and Nepal Communist Party (Loktantrik) have not submitted the audit report.
