Two provinces present policies and programmes
State 2 prioritises mechanisation of agro sector and Sudurpaschim focuses on programmes for high economic growth ratePost Report
The provincial governments of Province 2 and Sudurpaschim presented their respective policies and programmes to the provincial assembly meeting on Sunday.
Province 2 Governor Ratneshwor Lal Kayastha read the government’s policies and programmes during the provincial assembly meeting, prioritising agriculture, tourism and industry. The provincial government underscored the need of mechanisation of agricultural sector due to the shortage of workers in the recent years mainly due to foreign employment.
In its policies and programmes, the Province 2 government has laid out plans to provide training on the use of various tools and machines in the agriculture sector through Sarlahi-based Agriculture Tools Test and Research Centre.
Similarly, the Province 2 government proposed to develop districts including Saptari, Siraha, Mahottari, Sarlahi and Dhanusha districts as ‘mango super zone’. It also plans to declare area from Lalbandi to Bagmati of Sarlahi as ‘tomato super zone’. It has prioritised industrial development and promotion of religious tourism.
Likewise, the provincial executive of Sudurpaschim Province also presented its policies and programmes projecting high economic growth rate. It has prioritised the formation of provincial planning commission, tourism board and investment board. The government came with the concept of ‘one person, one bank account’ and health insurance.
Provincial chief Mohanraj Malla presented the Sudurpaschim government’s policies and programmes at the assembly meeting.
