Woman rescued alive after 10 days trapped in debris-buried house

A 60-year-old woman was rescued alive from the upper floor of a four-storey house buried under debris in Betrawati, Nuwakot, 10 days after she became trapped there, the Armed Police Force said.
Chandika Shrestha was found unconscious and rescued on Saturday from the house in Bidur Municipality-10, which belongs to Anand Shrestha, according to the force.
A nine-member Armed Police Force team, led by Inspector Suman Kumar BK, carried out the rescue.
Following her rescue, Shrestha was flown by helicopter to the Nepali Army’s Maithili Barracks in Trishuli for initial treatment. The Prime Minister’s Office said she would be brought to Kathmandu for further treatment if necessary.
The rescue came on the 11th day after the Bhotekoshi flood, which caused widespread destruction across several districts and left thousands of people missing
