Locals in Dhankua have continued their protest on Tuesday demanding the district be declared the provincial capital of province 1.
They have enforced a strike along the Koshi Highway and shut down market areas. Thousands of vehicles are stranded at Zero Point following the halt in vehicular movement.
Coordinator of Protest Mobilsation Committee Sundar Babu Shrestha said an indefinite strike will be enforced from Wednesday to pressurise to fulfill their demand. The committee said they will continue their protest until their demand was met.
