The Melamchi Drinking Water Development Committee has said it will be able to supply water in the Kathmandu Valley within six months.
As a 1.7 km section of the tunnel that brings water to Sundarijal in Kathmandu from the Melamchi river in Sindhupalchok remains to be dug, it is expected that the work would be completed in six months.
Deputy Executive Director of the Committee Ramakanta Duwadi said some 16 metres of the tunnel is dug on a daily basis at four different locations.
The detailed project reports for the Larke and Yangri projects at Panchpokhari Thangpal rural municipality in Sindhupalchok would be prepared within the next four months.
