The counting of votes under the third phase local level election held on September 18 has resumed in Lahan Municipality of Siraha district from Wednesday.
The vote counting was halted from 2 pm on Tuesday as the representatives of the Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal demanded recount of votes in Municipality's Ward Number 3 after the Nepali Congress candidate for the ward chair started leading the vote tally.
Vote counting was resumed from 6 am today after an agreement was reached between the election officer and the parties' representatives to seal the ballot boxes which have been already opened and votes counted for recount at the disputed ward while continuing the vote counting at the rest of the wards.
