Voting counting at Brindaban Municipality in Rautahat district has been stalled following a scuffle on Tuesday.
According to UML youth leader Deepak Regmi, the clash broke out after the party mayoral candidate Binod Patel demanded re-counting of extra votes seen in the vote counting centre.
The altercation ensued after CPN-UML lawmaker Ram Kumar Bhattarai reached the vote counting centre to fix the dispute.
Later, the cadres of Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) hurled stones at Bhattarai that led to the confrontation.
A large number of security personnel have been deployed around the area.
Maoist Centre candidate is leading the vote count in the municipality.
