Voters can vote by showing govt documents: EC
The Election Commission (EC) has made an arrangement for the registered voters to cast vote by producing other government documents, in case they failed to get their voter Identity card or lost it, in the third phase local-level election scheduled for Sept 18.The Election Commission (EC) has made an arrangement for the registered voters to cast vote by producing other government documents, in case they failed to get their voter Identity card or lost it, in the third phase local-level election scheduled for Sept 18.
However, the name of the voters has to be included in the final name list of voters published for the third round of local election.
The Election Commission has made all the necessary preparations for last phase of local polls to be held in 136 local units of eight districts in Province 2.
A meeting of the EC has decided to allow the voters to cast their ballots by showing government documents such as citizenship certificate, driving licence or the voter ID card issued by EC in 2013, land ownership certificate and other ID card along with photograph issued by the government bodies.
The EC has also directed its officials to make arrangement to allow the voters to cast vote on the basis of details of his/her citizenship certificate as per the Local-Level Election Guidelines if there is minor mistake in voters' name list or voter ID card.
