Nepali Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi had to be rushed to hospital after he was taken ill while addressing an election assembly at Janakpur in Dhanusha district.
Nidhi was taken to Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
Dr Jamun Prasad Singh, involved in Nidhi's treatment, said he was suffering from gastritis due to unhealthy eating habits. "He fainted in the hot sun due to that problem," said Dr Singh.
Following his treatment, Nidhi returned home for bed rest.
