Locals of Susta in Nawalparasi have vented their ire over the delay in the construction of a suspension bridge since the past two years.Locals of Susta in Nawalparasi have vented their ire over the delay in the construction of a suspension bridge since the past two years.
The construction work of the suspension bridge over the Narayani River that connects Paklihwa to Susta has hit a snag due to the laxness of the contractor—KV and Pashupati Construction Company. As a result, the locals are bound to cross the river in a boat to reach the either sides.
The construction work of the bridge that was supposed to be built within three years for Rs 228 million is yet to begin due to the negligence of the contractor.
Lawmaker Devkaran Jaiswal informed that the contractor had brought 10 quintal iron rod, six iron sheets and an old generator to the construction site some two years ago and after that they have been out of contact.
